Meet the Artist
Cheyenne Renee is a Virginia-Based artist who has spent the last 10yrs challenging herself in business and in her creative work. She spent her teenage years working with watercolor and acrylic paints, inspired mostly by nature and the landscape around her. She attributes her love of mountain scenes to the artist Bob Ross - who's show appeared one night on her television and arguably changed the course of her work forever. The Joy of Painting made the basics of landscape painting accessible to her and brought her into the world of PRACTICE. & like most artists will tell you - 'Talent is born in Practice'
She began selling her work at craft shows and art fairs at the age of 14, and her love for small business was ignited. She created her first website and social media pages, acquired her first business license, and learned the basics of sales & customer service. Three years later she had gone through The Gauntlet Business Program, interned with local organizations, and started collaborating with local businesses. She opened the doors to her first brick and mortar at the age of 18 and though the doors didn't stay open longer than a year, she learned valuable lessons. Lessons in small town communities, the struggles of running a full-time operation alone, and the most important lesson : Failure is inevitable, growth is a choice.
She fell in love with large-scale painting within the walls of that space. She also discovered the HEART that exists, uniquely, inside of small-town-small-business. A seed was planted.
Two years later.... that seed started to sprout. In 2021 she created the 50 in 50 Project as a way to get back to full-time art & travel. She wanted to continue painting and she wanted to do it in a big way for those who are normally overlooked.
50 murals across 50 small towns before the end of 2025 is the goal. She has spent the last 2yrs painting murals and meeting incredible small businesses. Highlighting these small towns and communities on her website as well as her social media. This is just the beginning of her plans for the #50in50project and she can't wait to share it with all of you.
